On the 20th anniversary of The Crossing it is so exciting to do something that reminds us of what we are called to do as Christians. In Orange County it is difficult to step outside financial glass ceilings when one does not have consistent reliable transportation. When we donate a car to someone in need, we are not only serving an individual or our community, but we are serving Christ himself. You might ask yourself:When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me - you did it to me.' Matthew 25:37-40
By donating a car to someone “overlooked or ignored”, we are going above and beyond feeding someone for a day, we are giving them a tool necessary to not only feed themselves, but take care and feed those around them. It is exciting to be serving Jesus Christ in a way that serves our community in a culturally relevant way.
